Ingredients for Hatay Style Raw Meatballs with Potatoes

  • 3 cups of bulgur with meatballs

  • 1 tablespoon of basil
  • 1 tablespoon of tomato paste

  • 2 potatoes
  • 3 glasses of water
  • 1 tablespoon of finely chopped onion
  • 400 grams of ground beef
  • 2 onions
  • 1 glass of olive oil

Hatay Style Raw Meatballs with Potatoes Recipe

  1.  First of all, let’s cut the potatoes in half and boil them.
  2.  Let’s take the ground meat in another pot and fry it until it turns brown.
  3.  Let’s chop the onions finely and add them to the roasted meat, let’s add the salt and turn down the stove. Let’s mix it once in a while, when the onions release their juices, add olive oil, boil it for 5 minutes and turn off the heat.
  4.  Let’s pour 3 glasses of bulgur into the mixing bowl, pour 3 glasses of hot water on it, wait for 20 minutes and wait for the bulgur to swell.
  5. After waiting for 20 minutes, let’s add cumin, black pepper, basil, 1 tablespoon of finely chopped onion, crushed dry pepper and tomato paste on the bulgur and start kneading. li>
  6. Let’s peel the boiled potatoes and mash them with a fork, be careful not to leave them lumpy, knead them with potatoes for 10 minutes.
  7. If it’s hard, dip your hand in water and knead, don’t put too much water, it will be sticky to the tray. It means that it has a luscious consistency.
  8. You can take walnut-sized pieces with your hand and press them to serve on the plates, or you can put the minced meat sauce on a separate plate if you wish. Chop the parsley on the minced meat sauce and sprinkle it.
