Lentil Meatballs (Full Thickness)

Ingredients for Lentil Meatballs (Full Thickness) Recipe

  • 2 cups of red lentils
  • 1 ,5 cups of bulgur for meatballs
  • 2 tablespoons of tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon of pepper paste
  • 2 medium onions
  • Parsley
  • Green onions
  • Dill
  • Cumin
  • Meatball seasoning
  • Chili pepper
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon of plum syrup or lemon (I had it homemade)
  • Oil (To Roast Onions)

How to Make Lentil Meatballs (Full Thickness) Recipe?

  1. Let’s wash our lentils and pour them into our pot, add water until a finger goes over it, and put it on the stove.
  2. Let’s close the bottom of the cooked lentils, add the bulgur, mix and add salt. Let’s close the lid of the pot and let it brew. (If the water is less, let’s add boiled water, if it is more, let’s add some)
  3. Chop the onion into small pieces and fry it in oil before it turns too brown, add the tomato paste, mix it a little more and turn it off.
  4. Then add the tomato paste sauce to the bulgur. Let’s start kneading in a large bowl. When the bulgur is mixed well with the tomato paste, let’s add the spices and greens and knead, if there is, let’s squeeze the plum syrup, if not, let’s squeeze lemon. If the oil is insufficient, you can add it at this stage.
  5. When the kneading process is finished, let’s wash our hands and squeeze our lentil meatballs and arrange them on the plate.
