This page sets out how we produce the guides on this site. We publish it so you can judge how much weight to give what you read here.
Research and sourcing
Guides are researched and written by our editorial team. Factual claims — opening hours, ticket rules, transport routes, fares, distances, dress codes — are checked against primary sources: the operator, the museum, the municipality or the national authority responsible. Where a fact comes from a secondary source, we treat it as provisional and flag uncertainty in the text rather than stating it flatly.
Prices
Turkey has had high inflation for several years and prices move fast. We publish price ranges to help you budget and we date them. Treat every figure on this site as an indication of order of magnitude, not a quote. Confirm the current price with the operator before you commit money.
What we will not do
- We do not accept payment for coverage, placement, or a favourable review.
- We do not publish sponsored posts or paid guest articles.
- We do not sell links, and we do not accept links in exchange for coverage.
- We do not copy text from other publishers.
If a commercial relationship ever affects what appears in a guide, it will be disclosed in that guide, at the top, in plain language.
Advertising and editorial independence
This site is funded by advertising. Adverts are served programmatically by third parties and are labelled “Advertisement” wherever they appear. Advertisers have no advance sight of our content and no influence over what we cover or how we judge it. Nobody who sells advertising has any say in editorial decisions.
Updates and corrections
Every guide shows when it was last updated. We revise guides when something material changes — a museum closes, a line opens, a rule changes. When we correct a factual error after publication, we fix the text and, where the error was significant, note the change on the page.
If you spot an error, email [email protected] with the page link. Corrections go to the front of the queue.
Use of AI tools
We use software tools, including AI-assisted drafting and editing tools, as part of our production process. Every guide is reviewed and edited by a person before publication, and we take full responsibility for everything we publish. We do not publish unreviewed machine output.
Our limits
We are a publisher, not a local agency, and we do not claim to have stood on every street corner we describe. Where our knowledge is second-hand, we say so rather than dressing it up as personal experience. For anything where being wrong would cost you money or a border crossing — visas, entry rules, bookings — check the official source.
